Claretians

St Antony Mary Claret (1807 -1870), Archbishop of Cuba (1850-1856) founded the Congregation of the Sons of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary (CMF: Cordis Mariae Filii) at Vic, Spain on 16 July 1849. As a servant of the Word, to liberate, with the special protection and patronage of the Heart of Mary, the millions of People suffering from poverty, illiteracy, sickness, social injustice, natural calamities and above all personal sinfulness. We strive to respond to the most urgent and timely needs, using all means possible to care for the spiritual and material needs of others. The Claretians are dedicated to seeing the world through the eyes of the poor. We give special attention to youth and families, leadership training, and spiritual renewal. We are actively engaged in the spiritual social and economic development.

Claret Bhavan

Claret Bhavan, the first house in India established in 1970. It is situated on a beautiful mount at Kuravilangad. Three years of minor seminary formation is imparted here to those who aspire to become Claretians. Besides formation of minor seminary students, this house functions as a centre for vocation promotion. Claret Bhavan was selected as the model agricultural farm by the government in the seventies and eighties.
